Popular with artists in the Northwest and beyond, this soft, smoothly-textured charcoal is artisan-made near Eugene, Oregon! Muse stocks these square sticks made from Oregon hardwood in the standard and jumbo sizes. ($3: 6-pack small or 2-pack large, $12.95: 30-pack small, 10-pack large, or combo mixed pack)
inkodye
Simple and versatile, Inkodye is a new light-sensitive dye that develops vivid colors with exposure to sunlight. Perfect for print making, photograms, screen printing, dying and batik, Inkodye enables you to print from a negative, silhouette, or stencil onto any absorbsent material like, paper, wood, or fabric. Coat a surface with Inkodye in low light conditions, place a negative or opaque object over the coated surface, and expose to outdoor light for 10 minutes or more. Inkodye is currently available in 3 colors: Orange, Blue and Red and two sizes 4oz ($11.95) and 16oz ($31.95).

These light-weight, warp-proof, and durable Oregon-made cradled birch panels are an ideal surface for encaustic, oil, acrylic and mixed media. Available in a variety of sizes (from 4” up to 60”), in 7/8″ depth and 1 5/8″ depth. In addition to the wide range of sizes we stock, custom-size panels in any dimension can be ordered to arrive in days. (prices range from ~$5 for smaller sizes to $39.95 for 24″x24″)

Acid-free, dual sided (textured/smooth), 8.5”x11” sheets of card stock come in a full spectrum of both light and dark colors. Perfect for collage and paperwork, card stock is also an ideal way of mounting finished pieces or can be used as a ground for colored pencil or pastels. ($0.60 per sheet or $0.45 for 5 or more)

fredrix mixed media painting boards
Long a favorite surface for oil and acrylic painters, Fredrix Canvas is now available on lightweight 3/4”-deep boards designed for use in any media – including watercolor. Composed of recycled and sustainably sourced vegetable based components, Fredrix Mixed Media Artist Panels are environmentally friendly, extremely durable, very light in weight, and remove the need of mounting finished watercolor pieces. Fredrix Painting boards come in 8”x10” ($7.75), 11”x14” ($8.25), 16”x20” ($10.50), and 18”x24” ($12.50).
